I have never been too crazy over celebrity gossips. In fact, I am not even crazy about watching television programs, lifestyle talk shows and magazine talk shows where celebrities grace the screen most of the time. But I’m not saying that I don’t enjoy watching movies. Basically, it’s those programs where the lives of celebrities are being openly scrutinized that I try to stay away from.

However, when news broke out years ago that Rihanna was reportedly beaten up by her then boyfriend Chris Brown, my interest was piqued. I already liked Rihanna back then and I have always loved listening to her songs. So when I heard about the news, I was dumbfounded. That’s when I started finding out more about the relationship of Rihanna and Chris Brown and the possible reasons behind the violent act of the latter. Prior to that, I had no idea that black celebrity gossip could be so interesting and worth following.

Rihanna has recovered since then. And so has Chris Brown. Both are moving forward and perhaps they both learned something from the experience. I learned one thing too. Becoming interested in the lives of celebrities really is not so bad after all.
